Home Cocktail in Siem Reap, Cambodia has been a favourite of mine for many years, and is located at the top of street 7, across the road from the provincial hospital. Home Cocktail is a Khmer run business and as the name suggests they have a wide range of cocktails going at between 2.50$ – 3$ for a cocktail. But what I like about this place is that during ‘happy hour’ you can get a long island ice tea or a nice refreshing pina calada for only $1.50.
But guess what, and here is the bit I like the most.. it’s ‘happy hour’ all day and all night. Every hour Home Cocktail is open, it’s happy hour. Amazing or what! Not only do they have an extensive cocktail list, they also do some pretty good food, and very well priced too. A very popular place with expats due to it’s nice indoor seating area and also a terraced seating area outside with which to soak up the local atmosphere.
It’s also a great place to people watch. We like to go there in the early afternoon for a few cheeky beers, and to watch the world go by. And at only 50 cents for a beer, you usually end up having a few too many, but without breaking the bank. But like I said, with a cheap food menu you don’t have to worry because you can get a nice pork chop with mash to soak up all that alcohol.
Home Cocktail is perfect for a few refreshing beer in the heat of an afternoon in Siem Reap or even to start off an evening with a couple of cocktails and a meal.
Home Cocktail is a backpackers dream. With a great menu with a good variation of food, an extensive cocktail list and happy hour every hour this is a must see, and with amazing and friendly staff and a great atmosphere, why wouldn’t you want to go?
